Prof. Dr. Najam Shabbir has 30+ years’ experience as a Professor of Surgery and Chairman and Head of the Department of Surgery at many of the top teaching hospitals in Karachi, Makkah, Dublin, and London, amongst others. A UK-trained and certified consultant general surgeon, he is Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious surgical colleges in the world. Widely considered to be one of the best surgeons in Karachi, Pakistan, he is also an expert in thyroid surgery and goitre (neck swelling) surgery. He has also pioneered minimally invasive, laparoscopic gallbladder (pitta) removal surgery without the need for large incisions. Rectal bleeding surgery, fistula surgery, fissure surgery, haemorrhoid (bawaseer) surgery, breast lump removal surgery, ingrown toenail surgery, hernia repair surgery, pilonidal cyst surgery, and appendix removal surgery for appendicitis are also amongst his strengths. He is extremely proficient in performing circumcision (khatna) surgery and ingrown toenail surgery.
